Backstory of The GirschesEx-priest, ex-nun. Award-winning toy inventors. Innovation consultants. Grand-techies.

Born and raised in Chicago, Charlie and Maria Girsch know something about re-invention, about family and about fun. As longtime award-winning toy and game inventors in the Twin Cities, they licensed more than 200 concepts worldwide to companies including such giants as Mattel and Hasbro. They even won Germany’s “Children’s Game of the Year Award.”

In the mid 90s, they fused their knowledge of fun and invention into a new realm. Their firm, Creativity Central, delivers speaking, consulting and training services to a wide array of clients from Fortune 500 companies like Target, General Mills, Kraft Foods and 3M to small firms and non-profits like the YMCA across North America and the UK.

Invented by Grandparents: The Girsches, now based in Denver, are clearly relentless idea-generators and solution-finders. With 9 grandkids on both coasts, they wanted to stay connected in a more engaging and satisfying way. “Phone calls, Skype and FaceTime can quickly become awkward,” says Maria. “The kids often get super silly or super shy. We’ve added fun stuff that’s simple, colorful, engrossing and even practical, in the case of homework! The time flies.” Charlie adds that “Much of today’s technology creates superficial links at best. We were determined to replicate the magic of ‘being there’ as best we could.”

The Zübernet platform was born. Its family of ZüberApps provides an experience that’s immediate, simultaneous, natural and non-intimidating. Further, it all originates in a safe and secure Family & Friends room.

Miles no longer matter. Connect, re-connect and stay connected in a whole new way with the power of Zübernet.
